GRADUATES

Five Senses goes that extra step for your safety.  Although not required by law, we are proud that all Five Senses Estheticians have completed esthetics courses at recognized colleges. Those who have specialized in medical or different treatments have also completed extensive training and certification. We continue to provide our team with education, training and opportunities.

SANITATION

Don't let these two cuties fool you.  At Five Senses we have always valued your health, we pride ourselves on being clean and sanitary, and we take hygiene and sanitation very seriously, and often surpass health board requirements.

 

All of our metal tools are sanitized between each use using medical grade disinfectant. Chairs and tables are wiped down after each use.  We do not double dip into our wax, we use a new nail file, buffer, cuticle stick, foot paddle sticks for every manicure and pedicure.  

 

When it comes to microblading we have been thoroughly trained in sterilization and sanitization.  We use a new blade for each client and sterile our handheld tool.

ARRIVAL

Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your treatment. You will want to experience our relaxing lounge and cafe area sipping on a complimentary beverage and indulging in a small treat.

 

First-time guests, you have a bit of work to do before you start your treatment. Please arrive 30 minutes before your treatment to allow time to fill out a personal health profile.

 

Profile information will enable your therapist to provide you with the most appropriate and effective service. 

 

AMENITIES

We are proud to offer you shower facilities, complete with shower gels, shampoos, hair dryer, and towels.  We even have spray deodorant, hair gel, and body lotions to complete your experience. 

 

Also for your convenience, we have a limited number of day lockers available. We will provide a locker with a key in which to store your belongings.

 

Five Senses is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

LOUNGE - SENSES CAFE

Come early and enjoy our lounging area. You can sit and relax,  while you recharge yourself with one of our complimentary choices of teas, coffees and hot chocolate.

 

We think that you deserve more than a beverage and we have a decadent cookie for your enjoyment as well.

 

Want to spend a bit more time in the lounge...no problem we have other beverages, snacks, and even lunch for only $7,  available for sale which you can sit and read up on latest periodicals and treatment books. you while enjoy

WHAT TO WEAR?

Always a dilemma...but not at Five Senses.  We always want you to be comfortable. 

 

If you prefer to remain partially clothed during a massage, then underwear is acceptable. Therapists leave the room while you disrobe, and are well experienced in guarding your modesty with skillful draping techniques during your service.

 

Coming in for a number of services, then we have a nice robe that you can wear.

 

You will want comfortable clothes that move with you if you are coming in for chiropractic, physiotherapy, and acupuncture.

Just dropping in for a pedicure don't forget to bring your flip flops or open toe shoes so you don't scuff up your toe polish.

MALE OR FEMALE?

If gender is a concern, be sure to clearly state your preference at time of booking.

 

Bear in mind that at certain peak times or for a particular, specialty treatment, your choice of the therapist may be very limited.

RUNNING LATE ?

If you are running late, then please contact us. If we can accommodate moving your appointment to a later time slot then we will do so.

 

If we can't, then arriving late will simply limit the time of your treatment and your service will be adjusted to fit the time available so that the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be applied.

QUIET PLEASE

Please turn off your ringer on all electronic devices. 

 

We understand that while you are in reception and the lounge you may want to utilize your electronic devices. Turning off the ringer is a courtesy so there is no electronic interruption or distraction for others.

 

Quiet conversation is acceptable in areas of the spa unless otherwise indicated.

SPEAK UP!

Although we are trained and are equipped with a number of useful and practical skills, mind reading is not one of them.

 

You can improve your experience by simply giving a few minutes thought to your service in advance so you can inform your therapist. If having a massage, think about any areas of the body that need special attention; any stiffness or aches and pains.

 

Think about how you would like to feel, as massages can be tonic, rejuvenating or relaxing. Last, always let your therapist if you prefer your treatment in silence, if you are too hot or cold or if anything is causing pain or discomfort even if it’s right in the middle of the massage, as this can lead to further pain and dissatisfaction with your experience.

OUR INTAKE FORMS

All of our Medical Staff, Doctors, Nurses, Registered Massage Therapists and our Estheticians have spent years in training to provide services to their clients, that will not cause them harm.

 

They will ask you to complete a private questionnaire that assists the spa to ensure that any services you will receive will not negatively or dangerously impact existing health conditions, medication or other circumstances, known only to you.

 

These questionnaires are confidential and often required by law and for your specific benefit, so please complete candidly and honestly.

CHILDREN

Guests under the age of 16 when accompanied by their parent or legal guardian can receive treatments and nail care.

Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult during treatments, and should also be aware of other clients in the same area who are enjoying some quiet time during their therapies.

TAKE HOME

Your therapist is a nurturing, trained professional, with your welfare in mind. Through questions and experience, he or she will inform themselves about you and any areas of concerns and will then identify any additional areas that may require attention.

 

Any recommendations for additional services or home care are intended to help you maintain or improve upon the results you see after your treatment, until your next appointment.

TIPPING

Tipping is discretionary, not obligatory.  If you enjoyed your service then a tip is certainly appreciated.  

 

At Five Senses any tip that you leave is given to the staff member that provided the service at the end of the day in full.
